Thought Leadership

The human factor. Thoughts and observations.

The life-blood of any organisation is its people; the success of every system, in every organisation is determined by human factors. We are seeking a deep understanding of these human factors; these are some of our thoughts and observations.

Physical Distancing

SeaChange have identified the 10 safety behaviours we can all do to Starve the COVID-19 Beast! We explain why they are important, what to do, and how make each safety behaviour a long-lasting habit. See below for key information on Physical Distancing:

Why you should ensure Physical Distancing?

Physical Distancing greatly reduces the spread of COVID-19

When should you ensure Physical Distancing?

Most businesses will have now implemented visual markings -usually on the floor- to encourage people to stick to the physical distancing rule. What is key is to get used to what this distance looks / feels like so that we can easily implement it 100% of the time – as much as possible.

Triggers to Form the Habit(s):

  • Practising at home by measuring a room or the distance between 2 items that have a very familiar position in our home can help to fix this distance template in our mind, e.g. “I know that my entrance lobby is 2-metres wide” or maybe the distance between our couch and the T.V.
  • Other comparisons include: just a little over the length of a standard size mattress, maybe our dining room table or the length of our sofa, etc.
  • Once this is understood, we can apply it with other people when out and about.
  • We know it is hard, but we must also resist the urge to come and invade other people’s personal space when talking to them!

In this YouTube video, the NHS use everyday ‘things’ that we can relate to demonstrate 2 metres. Click here
